- Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Sauté chopped onions, diced celery, diced jalapeño, and diced red pepper until very soft.
- Add minced garlic and cook for a couple more minutes.
- Add ground beef and stir until well browned, about 10 minutes.
- Reduce heat and add tomato paste, cooking until slightly toasty.
- Add puréed canned tomatoes and cook for a few minutes.
- Add Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce to taste.
- Continue cooking until the mixture is thick, about 15-20 minutes.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Serve on toasted potato buns.
